LET’S CELEBRATE!

The Purple Couch Bookshop is happy to announce our participation in the 13th Anniversary of Independent Bookstore Day!

We will be celebrating all weekend long. Our extended ours will be:

Saturday 9am-8pm

Sunday 10am – 6pm

In our 2 1/2 years in North Andover, our readers have been so welcoming and supportive.  We know how important it is to have a place where you feel a sense of community and belonging and we are thrilled that so many of you have found that at The Purple Couch.

Saturday kicks off the start of the North of Boston Book Trail.  Our sister stores all over the North Shore and beyond will be celebrating as well.  Visit as many as you can this weekend to be entered to win some phenomenal prizes and swag bags.

Throughout Saturday and Sunday, we will have story times and local author appearances.  We have also been stocking up on lots of new items and will have more mystery bags and blind dates than ever. We will also have some beautiful and delicious cookies from Andrea at Pleasantly Sweet on Saturday while supplies last.

Independent Bookstore Day (Indie Bookstore Day) was established in 2013 to promote, celebrate, and highlight the value of the Independent bookstore community. The day has been observed on the last Saturday of April every year since 2013. This year there are over 1,600 stores participating across the country.

Independent Bookstore Day is organized by the American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization, that works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers, and to assist in expanding the community of the book.
